Over half a billion birds cross the skies of Israel each year during their annual migration between Europe and Africa. But Israel’s wetlands-a critical rest stop for them-are drying up from overuse and climate change. Now the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel is fighting back-with an innovative program of
”re-wilding” commercial fishponds into nature reserves.
