31 Jan The Uniqueness of Nature in Israel
Join us to hear from Rachel Canar, Executive Director of Nature Israel. Learn why Israel is so uniquely important ecologically and how it is rebounding after the war and fires. The Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, the preeminent environmental organization in Israel since 1953, has shaped a successful environmental policy and culture for the past 72 years until today with many important remarkable achievements. Rachel will also speak about the newest initiatives, including restoration to Northern Israel and the Western Negev after the war, impactful nature programs that rebuild resilience and heal trauma, and innovative nature-based solutions to climate change. Israel’s nature faces rising threats—from development and drought to fire and war. How can we protect it, and how can it protect us? Luncheon & presentation are free; RSVPs and optional donations to support the event are appreciated.
