The Sea of Galilee (Kinneret in hebrew) has been a focal point of history throughout the ages. Explore the history and nature of this amazing freshwater lake – from the craggy cliffs of the surrounding highland to the kibbutzim on the shores of the rich farmland.
Our tour includes:
Gamla Nature Reserve: Our day begins in this beautiful gorge on the edge of the Golan overlooking the Sea of Galilee. From Bronze age structures to the remains of a synagogue from the second Temple period – the park is rich in history. And the cliffs are home to many species of endangered birds of prey and mammals.
Kibbutz Ein Gev: We will enjoy lunch on the shore of the Sea of Galilee at the beautiful Kibbutz Ein Gev.
Kinneret Cemetary: we will learn about the history of the early kibbutzim in the are with a visit to the Kinneret cemetery – one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Israel on the banks of the lake, near the outflow of the Jordan River.
Kibbutz Kinneret: The day will end with a visit to the Kinneret Dates visitor center where we will learn the history of the date palms in Israel and get a change to taste some delicious dates.

Where: Bus departs from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Pickup details will be sent after registration.
When: April 1, 2024
Jerusalem – Pickup between 6 and drop off by 18:00
Tel Aviv – Pickup between 6 and drop off by 18:00
Cost: Includes all entrance fees. A 10% discount is available for SPNI members.
