Over half a billion birds traverse the skies of Israel in each direction during their annual migrations. The wetlands of Israel have traditionally played a crucial role in sustaining these birds. But Israel’s wetlands, like those throughout the Middle East, are drying up from overuse, and migrant birds and Israel’s indigenous wildlife are at great risk.
The Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel is taking back wetlands in a nature rewilding project of global significance.
Come learn about this paradigm shift in nature conservation and its ramifications for the world.
