Live Nature Web Cameras

Our nature livestreams offer a real-time look at some of Israel’s most endangered and reclusive species. These projects help researchers and conservationists uncover previous unknown behaviors of Israeli birds and marine species so we can better protect them.

Raptor Nest Cams

The Raptor Nestcam project brings you an astonishing, 24/7 live window into the breeding territories of four of Israel’s largest birds of prey: the Griffon Vulture, Short-toed Eagle, Long-legged Buzzard, and Eurasian Eagle-Owl.

While these HD feeds capture the raw drama of the nesting cycle for millions of global viewers, they double as critical conservation assets.

Our team uses the live data to instantly detect and thwart nesting disturbances—from accidental trail-wandering by hikers to poaching threats—and to log prey deliveries to build a valuable scientific database on habitat health.

By watching, you are witnessing real-time field data being actively translated into on-the-ground protection for Israel’s unique raptors.

The Raptor Nestcam project is a collaborative conservation initiative powered by SPNI, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, the Hoopoe Foundation, the IDF, the “Legacy” Trust, and “Porsim Kanaf”.

Eilat Coral Reef Cam

Dive beneath the surface of the Gulf of Eilat, and witness an underwater wonderland of rich biodiversity – from vibrant seagrass meadows and intricate coral gardens to majestic marine life.

While over 90% of the world’s coral reefs face devastating bleaching due to climate change, Eilat’s corals possess an extraordinary, scientifically proven resilience to rising ocean temperatures.

By tuning into this live feed, you are looking directly at the future of marine biology. SPNI is partnering with leading researchers at the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences to monitor, study, and safeguard this unique refuge.

The data gathered from these waters informs critical conservation policies, drives cutting-edge climate research, and helps us build smarter management models to reduce urban and tourism pressures on this irreplaceable coast.

The Eilat Reefs project is a collaborative initiative of “The Blue Half” (SPNI’s marine branch) and the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences in Eilat, supported by Yad Hanadiv (The Rothschild Foundation).

Protecting the Mediterranean Sea

Creating marine-protected areas, protecting species and habits, regulating fishing, and more.

As the largest natural area in Israel, the Mediterranean Sea provides oxygen for breathing, novel medicines, eco-tourism, and education, as well as being home to unique ecosystems. Our Blue Half project is promoting a comprehensive environmental reform to protect this marine environment including protecting all unique habitats and endangered species in the marine reserves, advocating for sustainable fisheries practices, mainstreaming ecological considerations for development activities, and promoting public participation in marine conservation through our Sea Watch app. Read more on our Blue Half site.
