​This award is a moment of immense pride for all of us at the Society for the Protection of Nature, but most of all, it is a just and worthy honor for Yossi, for his many years of vision, leadership, deep love for nature, and endless dedication to the world of birding and the environment in Israel.

​Over decades of extensive work, Yossi has succeeded not only in researching and protecting birds, but also in connecting people, communities, and countries through the sky.

The groundbreaking projects he led have proven to all of us that there is no limit to the distances that can be reached when we act with passion and faith.

​Yossi is a mentor, an inspiration to generations of birders, researchers and nature lovers, and a pillar of environmental protection in Israel.

​We are proud of Yossi for his win, thank him for many years of joint work, and wish him many more years of health, activity, new discoveries and much satisfaction from all that he has built.
