These same areas are also some of the country’s most important natural spaces, and protecting them requires an unlikely partnership. The Nature Protection Army, a collaboration between the IDF, SPNI, Israel Nature and Parks Authority and the Israel Antiquities Authority, works to put conservation on the military’s agenda.
