English Bird Club: Wintering Ducks of the Judean Plains

Event Details:

Date: January 10, 2025

Address: Delek station at corner of Rt 44 and Rt 38

Winter offers a unique opportunity to observe a variety of ducks and other migratory birds in Israel. Many species travel south to spend the colder months here, making it the perfect season for birdwatching.

Join us as we explore one of the region’s best reservoirs, where we hope to spot numerous species, including the rare White-headed Duck.

Other possible sightings include:
Little Grebe, Eared Grebe, Ferruginous Duck, Green-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Common Pochard, Tufted Duck, Western Marsh Harrier, as well as kingfishers, pipits, wagtails, and more.

This event is suitable for everyone—no experience is necessary!

Cost:

110 NIS per person
90 NIS for SPNI members
Free for members of the English Bird Club

Meeting point details and guide contact information will be provided upon registration.
